It was long overdue, but I finally managed to successfully moved my blog off GoDaddy’s web hosting. Moving the WordPress site was somewhat tricky since when I initially moved the site to my primary Linux environment running on CentOS 5 virtual machine, I realized that my main Linux virtualized server didn’t meet the minimum PHP and MySQL version needed to run the latest WordPress 3.3.2. This gave me the perfect excuse to finally use CentOS 6.

After a minimal CentOS 6 install and updating the WordPress database, this blog is finally running on what will be it’s permanent hosting environment. Also, in addition of the hosting migration, I have changed the primary URL name of this blog to www.rubyninja.org instead of abaltazar.org. Hopefully this new blog URL will inspire me to write more interesting shit.
